Mrs. Philips was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 1938 to the late Edward and Anna (Kalix) Layton.

She was a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Susan Brink of Media, PA; John Philips of Pennsylvania; Peggy Lodise and husband Rinaldo Barbier of Lecanto, FL; Robert Philips and wife Janine of Glenolden, PA; 1 brother, John Layton; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She had a son, Edward Philips whom preceded her in death.
