The Life of Alice Ott Blade

Alice Ott Blade, 91, formerly of Philadelphia, died May 10, 2019 at Broomall Presbyterian Home.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she had worked as a Registered Nurse having graduated from the Einstein School of Nursing. Alice served as a head nurse for many years before working private duty.

As the wife of a minister who served as a Chaplain in the Navy, she traveled extensively, living in Florida, Iceland and after military duty, NY State. In later years they came back to Philadelphia and were active in the Arch Street Presbyterian Church.

Perhaps it was her nursing that defined her as a loving, caring and compassionate woman. Most probably she was that person, who carried those traits into nursing and as her husband's partner in Church work.

Known as energetic, always with a smile, Alice loved to walk, shop and was an avid reader.

Wife of Rev. Robert Blade, who died in 2008, Alice is survived by her cousins, Norman and Pat MacQueen, Lois and Ray Hanling, William and Hannah MacQueen and all her friends from Rosemont Presbyterian and Broomall Presbyterian Communities.

Visitation 10 am Thurs. May 16 followed by her Service 11am At the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, Pa 19026. www.Arlingtoncemetery.us
