The Life of Kathryn C Huver

Kathryn "Kay" Huver (nee Comly) of Media, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2019 at the age of 82.  Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Joseph W. Huver.  Devoted mother of Catharine Ricci, Joseph Jr. (JoAnn), Mimi Huver-Delaney (Thomas), Daniel (Kimberly), John, and Annemarie McAnally (Charles). Loving Grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister of Suzanne McNelis, Elizabeth Mueller and the late Daniel Comly; Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was born in Philadelphia to William and Catharine Comly, the youngest of four children and raised in Drexel Hill, Pa.  Kathryn attended St. Andrews in Drexel Hill and graduated from Villa Maria High School in Malvern Pa.  After meeting Joseph W. Huver of Malvern on Valentines Day in 1953, she began a life long romance that would last 65 years.  Kay & Joe raised six children in five different states and then settled in Drexel Hill, Newtown Square and finally Media, Pa. Kay was strong, kind and full of personality devoting her life to caring for her family and enriched by her friendships.  Like Joe, Kay was committed to her favorite charities including Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Poor, Philabundance and more recently, the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Kay enjoyed traveling and taking her children and grandchildren on many family vacations. She loved playing cards, including bridge, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing needlework.   Kay cherished spending time at her summer home on Long Beach Island, NJ watching her children and grandchildren play on the beach for over 45 years.  Kay was especially grateful to her special caregivers who lovingly provided her with emotional and physical support in the final year of her life.

May the south breeze always be with you….
