The Life of Mrs. Berler C. Kohr

Berler C. Kohr died Dec.6,2018 at Broadmore Senior Living. She was the widow of Roy H. Kohr.

Berler was born January 29, 1922 in Linden,Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Vanderbilt and Eliza B. Carter.

She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. A lifetime member of Lincoln Fire Station Aux. and active PTA member for Garfield and Devers schools. She loved flowers and working in her yard. She looked forward to working at the York Fair for Kohr's custard and orangeade and felt honored to serve presidential candidate John F. Kennedy orangeade.

She had many friends during her stay at Broadmore and enjoyed visiting with them each day. Her family deeply appreciates her neighbors Fran Eck and Debbie & Jeff Leiphart for all their help and support to mother after dad's death.

Berler leaves a daughter Cornette "Pudge" Nettles (George) Raleigh, NC and son Roy C. Kohr of York; four grandsons, George Jr. (Janet) Kernersville, NC, Britt (Cris) Raleigh,NC, Troy (Catherine)Greensboro,NC and Seth (D'Lynn) Cary, NC . Seven Great grand children LeAnn Sackenheim, David, Merritt, Trey, Simone, Carr, and Claire Nettles and a great great grandson Joseph Sackenheim.

Berler was preceded in death by sisters Ethel Wines, Pauline Showers, Bertha Holloway, Maudie Mauck , Violet Smedley, and brothers ,James, William,and Otis Carter.

Surviving siblings, Daisy Walker and Frank Carter and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
