The Life of Suzanne M. Brooker

Suzanne M Brooker

June 6, 1951 - February 12, 2019

Suzanne M. Brooker was born on June 7, 1951, the seventh of seven girls; preceded in death by her twin sister Joanne, sister Margaret and parents Margaret Samson Brooker and Charles E. Brooker.

Suzie worked many years in a sheltered workshop in Lansdowne, Pa. and Elwyn. It is hard to put into words the impact growing up with Suzanne made on our lives. She possessed that rare ability to love unconditionally.

There was never a person who upon meeting Suzie did not experience her open her arms, hug them and say, “I Love You”. She also had an amazing memory in her young life and never forgot a birthday of any of her six sisters, and twelve nieces and nephews. She was an avid watcher of her favorite TV shows – Touched by an Angel, and The Lawrence Welk Show. She knew all the characters and very proudly told all in the room the names and talents of each.

Suzie loved to dance, and she did it well. Even upon losing much of her hearing you could find her dancing to the melody in her mind Suzie also loved to color. It was probably her must OCD activity. Crayons had to be sharpened and pages in the book done in order. If you wanted to make her smile, just show up with a GIANT box of Crayola crayons and some coloring books.

In 2012, Suzanne began the long, slow and painful road that is Alzheimer’s disease. Her decline was rapid and robbed her of that loving spirit so much a part of her. With the help of the staff at Fair Acres Nursing Home and Hospice, Suzanne was well loved and cared for until the disease overtook her on February 12, 2019. All of us in the Brooker Family thank them for all that they did for her.
Sincerely
Her sisters:
Mary Hoffman
Elizabeth Freeman
Anne Brown
Carol Weisel
