The Life of Dorothy S. Burt

Dorothy Mae Burt (nee Summy), 84, of  Mickleton, NJ died February 11.2019. Born in Phila., and raised in Lansdowne she was a graduate of Lansdowne High as a member of the class of ’53. Dotty married Bob in 1956 and made a warm and supportive home in Catonsville, MD, the Brandywine area of Wilmington, DE, and later in Medford, NJ. Her final home was in Mickleton to be closer to family, especially her grandchildren, Sandy and David. Devoted to her family, Dotty relished their time together.  Holidays and family celebrations were very special and joyous for her.  She vacationed every summer  in Ocean City, NJ, creating great memories that her family will always cherish.

 Beloved, loving and devoted wife of Robert Steen Burt, who died in 2011, she was a loving mother to Susan (Dave) Datz and Robert Scott (Cecilia) Burt.   Doting "Gram" to Sandy Lynn (Domenic) Consoli and David James Datz, she welcomed the next generation as Great Gram to Jacob Robert Consoli. Dotty is also survived by her sister, Barbara Gardner, brother Albert (Dru) Summy, sister-in-law, Joan Summy, sister-in-law Claire Burt, along with many nieces and nephews. Service will begin at 11:30 AM, Sat, from the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, Pa 19026. where friends may call after 10:30 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery.
