The Life of Constance L Rawson

Constance Louise Rawson, age 63, passed away unexpectedly during the early morning of Thursday, November 29, 2018, in her home in Monticello in Jefferson County, Florida. 

Connie was born on September 19, 1955, in Darby,  Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Francis and Katherine Mary (McCloskey) St. Pierre.  Initially living in Allentown, PA, she grew-up in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, graduating from Colonia High School in 1973.  On July 13, 1974, she married her first husband Michael Paul Tomkiewicz in Edison, NJ.  While living in Edison, NJ, she had two children, Michael Joseph Tomkiewicz and Andrew Brent Tomkiewicz.  In July 1984, she moved to Gallupville, in Schoharie County, New York.  Following high school, Connie worked for Prudential, starting as an office clerk and ultimately becoming a project manager and systems analyst.  She took a brief interlude from Prudential to work with the 1990 Census Bureau as a manager.  Through her employment in Prudential’s Albany office she met Martin Allen Rawson, whom she married on August 18, 1995, in Schoharie, NY.  They had a daughter, Colleen Therese Rawson.  In August 1996, she moved with her family to Callahan in Nassau County, Florida.  In 2006, she retired from Prudential after more than 29 years of service.  In March 2018, Connie and Marty moved to Monticello, FL, to be closer to their grandchildren in neighboring Tallahassee. 

Connie was very sociable and enjoyed reading, gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.  Connie was a wonderful listener and could connect with almost anyone.  Connie’s grandchildren were everything to her, and she will always be their Nana. 

She is survived by her husband, Martin Allen Rawson, her sisters, Katherine Mary Yawarski (Richard John) and Suzanne Elizabeth Chant (Stephen Joseph), her children Michael Joseph Tomkiewicz and Colleen Therese Rawson, her daughter-in-law, Ressa Ann Tomkiewicz, her grandchildren, Abigail Renee Tomkiewicz, Joshua Philip Tomkiewicz, Nathan Andrew Tomkiewicz, and Patrick William Tomkiewicz, and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katherine St. Pierre, her brother, Joseph Charles St. Pierre, and her son, Andrew Brent Tomkiewicz. 

Family, friends, and others whose lives Connie touched are invited to Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32303, for a viewing from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church,  Tallahassee, FL  3:00 pm

Connie’s burial is scheduled 2pm, Tuesday December 11,2018 at  Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Rd., Yeadon, PA 19050.
