The Life of George Bausewine

NORRISTOWN, Pa., July 29 - George Bausewine, former chief of police here, died in his sleep this morning in his home.

Mr. Bausewine had been chief for fourteen years until 1944. He also had been a pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics in the American Baseball League, an umpire in the National Baseball League and an acting captain on the Philadelphia police force. He was a member of the Philadelphia police department for twenty-nine years.

He leaves a widow, Mrs. Emma Bausewine, a daughter, Mrs. Emma Donaghy, and a son, Harry.

George is buried in an unmarked grave at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
