The Life of June D. Hilbert

June D. (Esterly) Hilbert, 81, of Stevens, died on Monday, November 5, 2018, in Ephrata Wellspan Hospital. She was the wife of Melvin R. Hilbert. The two met at a community dance in 1994, were married November 29, 1997, and kept dancing their way through the years with beauty and grace. Born in Reading, June was a daughter of the late Frank Esterly and Florence Seidel. A member of LCBC, June began her career as a receptionist at Bob Fisher Chevrolet. She rose through the ranks, attaining the position of General Manager, a position she held until retirement in 1998 after 30 years of exceptional service. Following retirement, June worked part-time for the Hamburg Community Pool, Keller Brothers Dodge, and Hershey Physical Therapy. June was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1955 and continued her education at McCann Business School, Reading, where she studied Business Administration. June enjoyed reading, dancing, taking trips to the beach, spending time with her family and friends, and especially cooking. One of June's greatest joys in life was sharing her delicious, homemade meals with others.

In addition to her husband of 20 years, Melvin, June is survived by her children: Vicky L. Esposito and Carmine, husband of Julie A. (Keiser) Esposito; as well as stepsons Daniel R., husband of Jennifer E. (Estony) Hilbert, and Richard L., husband of Leigh Anna B. (Buchko) Hilbert. Other survivors include sisters, Charlotte Schwartz, Betty Bradfield, and brother, Frank Esterly. There are nine grandchildren John Reber, Brad Hawkins, Ashley Pletscher, Jackson Hilbert, Anna Leigh Hilbert, Bronwyn Hilbert, Matthew Hilbert, Julia Hilbert, and Zachary Hilbert and four great grandchildren Cristian Pletscher, Collyns Pletscher, Wesley Hawkins, and Margot Hawkins. June was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
