The Life of Rafaela Arreola Pina

Rafaela Arreola Pina, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away at Truman Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 28, 2018. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met. Rafaela was born on February 29, 1944 in Jerecuaro, GTO Mexico to Pedro Arreola and Maria De Jesus Martinez. She worked for Farmland Industries as a production worked as well as many other positions within the company. It was from there that she retired after 35 years of service.

Rafaela enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved being surrounded by her beautiful flowers and trees. She loved spending time with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her children and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Rafaela is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Arreola, two brothers, Enrique Arreola and Salvador Arreola and one sister, Antonia Mercado. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Florentino Tovar Pina of the home, six children, Rudy Pina and his wife Elvira of Olathe, Kansas, Rafael Pina of Kansas City, Missouri, Alfredo Pina of Jerecuaro, GTO Mexico, Jose Pina and his wife Rosalva of Kansas City, Missouri, Angelica Pina and her husband (Gerardo) of Gardner, Kansas and Gilbert Pina and his wife Mary Kaye of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Left behind to cherish “Abuelita’s” memory are her eleven grandchildren, Dolores Pina, Rafael Pina Jr., Rudy Pina Jr., Oscar Hernandez Jr., Valerie Pina, Dianna Pina, Lewis Pina, Jessica Hernandez, Joel Pina, Samantha Alarcon, Isabella Pina and one great grandchild, Giovanni Hernandez. Rafaela is also survived by her brother, Pedro Arreola of Mexico City, DF. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family.

At the request of the family, all Funeral Services will be private.
