The Life of EDWARD P NABOZNY

Edward P. “Shorty” Nabozny, 94, of Reading, passed away during the evening hours of Thursday January 7, 2021 in The Berkshire Center, Exeter Twp. Shorty was predeceased by his wife Theresa S. (Rochowicz) Nabozny on October 22, 2018. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Helen (Dombrowski) Nabozny. Shorty is survived by his loving daughter Jeanne M. (Nabozny) wife of Michael Barber, of Reading, where Shorty had resided, before going to The Berkshire Center. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Ashley M. (Barber) wife of Sam Landis, of Breinigsville PA and Matthew M. husband of Cory Barber, of West Lawn. Shorty is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all of his siblings. Shorty proudly served his country in The United States Navy, during World War II, he was assigned to The USS Manning, achieving the rank of Seaman First Class and being awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon and American Theater Ribbon Victory Medal. He was employed by Carpenter Technology in the Rolling Mill Dept. until his retirement in March 1987. Shorty was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Reading. Shorty was very proud of his polish heritage, and was a member of the Polish Falcons, “Ingie Pingies”, and was an avid bowler at Bowl-O-Rama and Hiesters Lanes. He will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their sympathy and respects on Thursday January 14, 2021 from 9:00am to 10:00am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church 250 South Twelfth Street Reading PA 19602. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Mary R.C. Church Memorial Fund at the address above in memory of Mr. Edward P. “Shorty” Nabozny. The Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
