The Life of Carl A Eidem

Carl A. Eidem, 75, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, following a 16-year battle with cancer.

Carl was born in Pottsville, Dec. 18, 1942, a son of the late Arthur L. and Margaret Korkie Eidem.

He was the husband of Susan Putt Eidem, to whom he was married for 51 years.

Carl was employed by, and eventually retired from, Dana Corp.

Carl had been enlisted in the National Guard.

He was also a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, Skyliner's Motorcycle Drill Team, and Schuylkill County Motorcycle Drill Team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and motorcycling.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara, wife of Erik Creveling, Deer Lake; two sons, Joseph, husband of Doris Eidem, Auburn, and Dave Eidem, Pottsville; two sisters, Pauline Holliday, Orlando, Fla., and Ann Eidem, Ringgold, Ga.; a brother, John, husband of Mary Ann Eidem, Pine Grove; grandchildren, Kyle Eidem and Sabrina Hunt; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Green; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.
