The Life of Michael J. Leibelsperger

Michael J. Leibelsperger, 70, of Kutztown, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Kutztown Manor, Inc., where he was a resident since February. Born in Allentown, Michael was a son of the late James R. and Elsie M. (Schlenker) Leibelsperger. Michael was Lutheran in faith and attended both Kutztown Area and Muhlenberg High Schools. Michael was employed by the United States Department of Defense, working at Rock Island Arsenal for over 20 years. Michael had a love for John Wayne and music. He was the proud collector of many albums and model cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing and going to drag car races.

Michael is survived by his sister, Sharon S. (Leibelsperger), wife of Antonio "Tony" Fernandez, Sr., Kingwood, TX; his aunt, Sally Leibelsperger, Kutztown, and two nephews, Antonio Fernandez, Jr. and Marco Fernandez, both of Kingwood, TX. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brother, Raymond C. Leibelsperger on March 23, 2015.

A funeral service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.) Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
