The Life of Rose Laura Masters

Rose Wilson (Freeze) Masters, 94, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 28, 2018 after a long and good life. Rose was born on January 20, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the oldest of eight children born to Harvey and Della (Banning) Frazee.

Rose grew up in the city of Olathe where she attended school. It was there where she met her first husband, Wayne Wilson. Together they had six children. They divorced in 1954 and one year later she met and married Alva Wilson. Alva Wilson died in 1970 and she married Ivan Masters in 1980. He preceded her in death in 1984.

Rose worked for the Solo Cup Factory in Belton, Missouri for 30 years. To help support her large family she also worked at, Intercollegiate Press, Katz Drug Store and Gay Gibson. Her life centered around her children and her grandchildren. They were her greatest sense of pride. Nothing gave her more joy than watching them play sports, attending country music shows and dancing and singing country music songs with them. She loved country music.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Della Frazee, infant son, Wayne Jr., three brothers, Elmer Frazee, Irvin (Ike) Frazee, Herb Frazee and one sister, Dorothy Irvin. She is survived by her four daughters, Donna Heather, Linda Bousman and her husband John, Patricia Hahn and Ginger Holzer all of Olathe, Kansas and one son, Jack Wilson and his wife Danise of Saukville, Wisconsin. She will be sadly missed by her eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren with one on the way. Rose is also survived by one sister, Shirley Wilds and her husband Larry of Stanley, Kansas and one brother Wayne Frazee and his wife Penny of Bakersfield, California.

After the death of her husband Ivan Masters she moved to Parkview Manor in Olathe, Kansas where she resided until 2013. When her health began to fail, in August of 2013 she moved to a nursing facility in Olathe, Kansas where she was living at the time of her death.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the Olathe Memorial Cemetery 738 North Chestnut Street Olathe, Kansas. A private family viewing will take place at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas at 12:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service at the cemetery.
