The Life of Martha Fabian


Martha Fabian, 96, passed away Wednesday at Seton Manor in Orwigsburg.

Born in Lorraine, Blythe Township, July 1, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Theodosia "Sadie" Danshock Mistishen. She was the widow of Paul Fabian, who passed away in 1993 after 51 years of marriage.

Martha loved to play bingo, cook and bake, and was known for her delicious cakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph; brothers, John, Michael, Walter, Nicholas and Harold Mistishen; sisters, Mary Shimkus and Matilda "Theresa" Seasock. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a son, Paul J., Auburn; daughters, Jo Ann, wife of Richard Reinert, Schuylkill Haven, and Helen, wife of Kenneth Youndt, Denver; four grandchildren, Jeff Fabian, partner of Sam Shelton, Washington, D.C., Machelle Fabian, Tamyla Julian, wife of Brad Julian, Maryland, and Curtis Youndt, King of Prussia; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Julian, Emilia Julian, Nicholas Fabian, Cameron Roberts and Benjamin Roberts.

A religious service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grabowsky Funeral Home, 75 Memorial Drive, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor James R. Fidler officiating. Friends and family are invited to call from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to Landingville Fire Company, 1 Firehouse Road, Landingville, PA 17972, or Seton Manor Activity Department, 1000 Seton Drive, Orwigsburg, PA 17961. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park Inc., Schuylkill Haven.
