The Life of Daniel J. Lucas

Daniel J. Lucas, 51, of Chester, PA, died suddenly September 1, 2018.  A lifetime Delaware Co resident he was a 1984 graduate of Academy Park High.

Dan owned and operated Lucas Auto Body in Chester where he enjoyed restoring vintage cars. An accomplished chef, he attended culinary school and was a gardener who took seriously farm to table lifestyle; one of his prized possessions was a juicer.

Dan was a slots aficionado and fisherman. Generous with both his time and treasure, Dan did volunteer prison ministry, worked with City Team Ministry and supported numerous causes and organizations in Chester. His business was very important, from the pride he took in his work, the sharing of his talents with organizations and helping with their needs.. He was the beloved son of Shirley Lucas with whom he lived with and cared for in recent years; also surviving are his sister Shelli Lucas Dellinger, nieces, Erin Elizabeth and Emily, fiancée Donna Holcombe, countless friends especially A.J., Eric, Jimmy and Anthony.

Service: Funeral Service will be 2 pm Fri at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill

Visitation:  12:30 pm to 2pm Friday at the Funeral Home  

Contributions: in his memory to Woodlyn Baptist Church, 1125 MacDade Blvd. Woodlyn, Pa 19094 or to CityTeam Chester, 634 Sproul Street, Chester, PA 19013, would be preferred
