The Life of Norma June Bollan

Norma June Bollan, 82, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family at Shawnee Mission Medical Center on July 31, 2018. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to everyone she met.

Norma was born on August 9, 1935 in Ira, Missouri to James A. and Dortha H. (Jackson) Riggins. She attended and graduated from Eldridge High School in Eldridge, Missouri. She married the love of her life Billie Bollan on September 4, 1954 in Eldridge, Missouri. Through this union, together they raised their two daughters, Teresa and Twyla. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Norma is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Billie Bollan who passed away in 2013, her parents, James and Dortha Riggins and her two brothers, Robert Riggins and James Riggins. She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Schlegel and her husband John of Paola, Kansas and Twyla Way and her husband Walter of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren: Debra Fanning and her husband J.J., John Schlegel Jr. and his wife Lori, Lindsey Willis and her husband Kyle and Austin Way. Norma is also survived by her seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Fanning, Matthew Fanning, Gracie Fanning, Halle Schlegel, Layla Schlegel, Jackson Willis and Hunter Willis.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of “Norma June Bollan” is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 3rd at College Church of the Nazarene 2020 East Sheridan Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. ~ 2:30 p.m. one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
