The Life of Carolyn Sue Ringsdorf

Carolyn Sue Ringsdorf, 71, of West Brandywine, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018. 

She was the daughter of the late William and Edith Ringsdorf (nee Ensor) and the sister of the late William Dale Ringsdorf.

Carolyn graduated from Kutztown University and earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Drexel University in 1971. 

She served as the Director of the Upper Darby Township Public Libraries for 20 years (retiring in 2002), after serving as the Children’s Librarian of Sellers Library prior.  She served as a librarian in the Special Services of The U.S. Army from 1972-1975 stationed in Ulm, Germany. Carolyn enjoyed crochet, cross-stitch and knitting.  Loving technology, she could often be found at her computer or iPad. A 15 year resident of Freedom Village-Brandywine, she served on several committees including Channel 66, The Bugle, and the FVB Scholarship Committee.

Carolyn is survived by her sister-in-law, Nora Ringsdorf of Downingtown, PA, her niece, Dawn Barringer (Peter) and nephew William Ringsdorf (Jean) and her well-loved grandnieces and nephews Casey and Jacob Barringer and Scott and Allison Ringsdorf.

Interment will be held at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA  19026 on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00am.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held on Thursday, August 9th at 2:00pm at Freedom Village Brandywine, 15 Freedom Blvd, West Brandywine, PA  19320.  Friends are welcome to remain following the service for light refreshments and remembrances.
