The Life of Joseph N. Burkholder

Joseph N. Burkholder, 15, of Richmond Township, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, where he was a patient since June 3rd.  Born January 9, 2003, in Richmond Township, he was a son of John W. and Verna Z. (Nolt) Burkholder, with whom he resided.  Joseph was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites, attending the Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township.  He worked on the family farm and roadside stand, as well as assisted several neighbors with chores, as needed.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by seven brothers: Wilmer N., husband of Nancy B. (Zimmerman) Burkholder; Michael N., husband of Melissa B. (Newswanger) Burkholder; Lowell N. Burkholder; Lavon N., husband of Anne L. (Newswanger) Burkholder; Duane N., husband of Florence W. (Newswanger) Burkholder; Aaron N. Burkholder and Jerome N. Burkholder, all of Fleetwood. There are four sisters: Erla N. Burkholder; Norma N. Burkholder; Luann N. Burkholder and Gracetta N. Burkholder, all of Fleetwood. Other survivors include Paternal Grandparents, Aaron Z. and Ada H. (Weaver) Burkholder, Fleetwood; Maternal Grandfather and step grandmother, Aaron W. and Lavina S. (Martin) Nolt, Kutztown. There are five nieces and five nephews.  Joseph was predeceased by his Maternal Grandmother, Esther S. (Zimmerman) Nolt.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating.  Interment in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the parent's home, 55 Stump Road, Fleetwood, PA.
