The Life of WILLIAM R ROUGHTON

William (Bill) Russel Roughton, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022, at his home in Folsom, California. Bill was born in Allentown, PA and grew up in Mt. Penn, graduating from Mt. Penn High School with the class of 1954. Parents, Russel and Lillian Roughton, stepmother Betty Roughton, younger brother Arthur Roughton, and his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Vera Roughton, preceded Bill in death. He is survived by sons, Michael (Lynne) of Newark, NJ, and Dave (Karen) of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Bill will be best remembered for his absolute devotion to his family, friends, faith, and the Aerospace Museum of California where he volunteered for more than 18 years sharing his passion and enthusiasm for children’s STEM education through aviation and aerospace science. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Bill may be made to the Aerospace Museum of California and sent to 3200 Freedom Park Drive, McClellan Park, CA 95652 or by donating at www.aerospaceca.org.
