The Life of Clara E Berkheiser
Clara E. Kamp Berkheiser, 73, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday morning at her residence.
Born Feb. 6, 1945, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Franklin E. and Esther M. Koch Kamp.
She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a member of Bethany Christian Fellowship E.C., Cressona. She worked for Lowe's as a cashier for several years.
Clara enjoyed reading romance novels and books about Amish customs, which she found really intriguing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Irvin Kamp.
Clara is survived by her husband of 51 years, Herman E. Berkheiser; daughters, Barbara Schware, wife of Joel, Pamela Berkheiser, and Christine Kramer, wife of Oral; two grandsons, Eric and Tim Schware.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Pottsville Area Soap Box Derby, 527 Hotel St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
