The Life of Dorothy W Swartz

Dorothy (Wilson) Swartz of Jamison, formerly of Warminster and Drexel Hill, PA, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, in her home at The Bridges at Warwick. She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Swartz, with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage. Born in Collingswood, NJ, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Edna A. Wilson. She was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School. Dorothy was actively involved for many years with Meals on Wheels in Upper Darby, delivering meals, coordinating the routing and volunteers, and ultimately serving as director.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warminster and formerly attended Wayne Presbyterian Church and Riverview Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill, where she had served as a trustee.

Dottie was known as the “puzzle lady” at Ann’s Choice for her love of doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid bridge player in her younger years. After moving to The Bridges at Warwick, she thrived and enjoyed participating in various activities, especially playing card games, word puzzles, trivia, and Bingo.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Swartz of Media and Cynthia Swartz of Jamison. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Swartz.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6,at First Presbyterian Church of Warminster, 500 Madison Ave., Warminster, PA 18974, where friends and family will be received from 10 a.m.

Interment will be held privately.
