Margaret was born January 30, 1922 to Michael and Mary Evan in Minneapolis, MN. Margaret''s birth was a celebration as she was the first daughter born after four boys. The family bought some land and moved to Arnold, Wisconsin when she was about 4 years old. Margaret went to the country school in Arnold. Margaret loved the Lord and often mentioned the little country church in Arnold where she gave her heart and life to Jesus.

Then tragedy struck the family at its very heart. Margaret''s mother passed away after childbirth leaving a heartbroken family. She often would mention the passing of her mother and the impact on her life. Margaret was only 10 years old at the time. Margaret attended Northwestern Bible College and graduated in 1944. She took a job at Medicine Lake Bible Camp that summer and met her future husband Ed Nelson. They were married the following August, 1945. To this union were born two daughters.

Margaret and Ed settled in Carlisle, Iowa and raised their two girls the in little town. Margaret was a wonderful stay-at-home mother until her daughters were teenagers. Then Margaret went to work for Bankers Life (now the Principal) for over 25 years before retiring in January of 1987. She was known for her dedication and excellent work. After the girls left home they moved to Ankeny, Iowa. During this time Ed passed away from cancer.

Margaret did well on her own for many years and was a charter member of the Ankeny Evangelical Free Church and was an active member until moving to Minnesota. In the fall of 2012 it became necessary for her to move to her daughter Betty''s in Minnesota. She was there 5 years until she went to Arizona to live as her medical needs became to much for Betty.

She is survived by her daughters Betty Anderson (Vern) of Pine City MN and Barbara Klootwyk (Robert) of Sun City West, AZ; a sister Ruth of Pound, WI; her grandchildren Karl, Karen, Kurt, Kristy, Kimberly and 13 great grandchildren.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Ed Nelson, her parents, her four brothers and one sister.
