The Life of Christopher Alan Rowell

Christopher Rowell, 70, died peacefully on September 2, 2016 at Mount Vernon Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria, VA after a long battle with cancer. Known as Chris to his family and friends, he will always be remembered as a man of strong character with a gentle soul. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Forrest Rowell and Marjorie Rowell.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Wheatley Rowell; children Christopher Jr. Rowell (Rowena), Russell Rowell, and Kirsten Rowell (Evan); his nine siblings, Nancy Lewit (Peter), Forrest Rowell (Zita), Betsy Buckner (Doug), Bruce Rowell (Donatella), John Rowell, Susan Mellegard (Richard), Debbie Bushey (Allen), David Rowell, and Douglas Rowell; his grandchildren Kevin Rowell, Ashley Rowell, Taylor Rowell, and Alexandra Rowell. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
