The Life of George I Teter


George I. Teter, 88, of New Ringgold, passed away Wednesday at home.

Born in New Ringgold, Feb. 22, 1930, he was a son of the late Jonathan and Sara Peiffer Teter.

He was the widower of Irene P. Grube Teter, who passed away Jan. 14, 2014.

He was a member of Christ Church McKeansburg.

George was employed as a mechanic and delivery driver for Eckroth Farming Equipment, McKeansburg. He was also a lifelong farmer.

In addition to his parents and wife, George was also preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Carl Teter, and siblings, Shirley Breiner, Grace Bitzer, and Guy Teter.

He is survived by a son, Carl Teter and wife, Susan, New Ringgold; three daughters, Susan, wife of Clarence Paul III, McKeansburg, Karen Riegel, at home in New Ringgold, and Nancy, wife of Dennis Seltzer, Selinsgrove. Additional survivors include grandchildren, David J. Teter and wife, Amanda, New Ringgold, Anna J. Teter, Winchester, Va., and Katie J. Miller, New Ringgold, Jody Goodling and husband, Gabe, New Cumberland, Marsha Zabarkes and husband, Ben, Red Lion, Nathan Paul and wife, Laura, Middletown, Mark Paul and wife, Kim, Orwigsburg, Roxanne Waite and husband, Jeremy, Beavertown, and Audrey Seltzer, Selinsgrove; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Stump, Schuylkill Haven, and Ellen Lengel, Pine Grove.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Church McKeansburg with Pastor Sunny Stock and Jonathan Heim co-officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
