The Life of Richard Dan Daigle
Westlake Village, CA - Richard Dan Daigle
passed away on August 14, 2016. Dan was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana
to Abe and Grace (Murrell) Daigle on April 7, 1935. He graduated from
Lafayette High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where
he received a degree in electrical engineering. After college, Dan
entered the Air Force as a Second Lieutenant and served for 21 years as a
navigator and navigation instructor. He also received his Master''s
degree in Program Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
After retirement from the Air Force with the rank of Lt. Colonel, he
worked for Hughes Aircraft Company as a Missile Field Test Engineer
until his retirement in 1997.
Dan loved tennis, golf and music. He participated in the musical worship team at New Hope Lutheran Church in Agoura Hills and was very active in Twelve Step recovery programs.
Dan is survived by his wife, Darlene; brothers Johnny (Germaine) and Larry (Connie); sister Glenda (Mi Mi) Ray; step son Darryl van Maanen (Diane) and their daughter Katy. He is also survived by three nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces and six great-nephews.
A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church, 29295 Agoura Rd., Agoura Hills, 91301. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Wounded Warriors, Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team or the Parkinson''s Foundation.
