The Life of Charles Douglass Hunter

Charles Douglas Hunter, 74, of Drexel Hill, PA, died April 22, 2018 at Lankenau Hospital.

Raised in Lansdowne and a graduate of Lansdowne Aldan High, class of '63, he attended Pierce Business School. Doug served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He had been employed as a Computer Analyst by Vertex and CGI for over 50 years before retiring in 2014. A volunteer for the Upper Darby Band and Orchestra Parents, served as treasurer. Gardening, golfing and swimming were activities he enjoyed in his free time.

An accomplished handyman around the house, Doug will best be remembered as a loving husband dad and Dad Dad. He cherished time spent with his family especially in Ocean City NJ. What best can be said about him is that family came first, last and always; that he was a humble and selfless man.

 Survivors: include his wife of 47 years, Patricia (nee Comly); children, Carolanne (John) Brooks, Melissa (Sam) Sproull, Amy (Jason) Kraiza, Chad (Stephen Graff) Hunter and Todd Hunter, Grandchildren, Hunter, Molly, Sammy, Tyler, Dylan, and AJ, his brother, C. Edwin Hunter, III and sister, Barbara Gray

Service: Private Service

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Arrangements: Toppitzer Funeral Home, Drexel Hill.
