The Life of Amelia D. Wagner

Amelia D. Wagner, 98, formerly of Upper Darby, passed away April 15, 2018, at 3:52 p.m. in the Mifflin Center where she was a guest since June 8, 2017. She previously resided at Country Meadows.

She was the wife of the late Harold A. Wagner who passed away June 16, 1973.  Born in Tomahawk, Wis., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Johannah (Ziegler) Douglas.

Amelia served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She enjoyed traveling and was talented in the art of ceramic painting as well as crocheting, knitting and sewing. She was a member of Friendship Chapter No. 551 O.E.S., Springfield, Pa., and served as worthy matron. Amelia worked in retail at Strawbridge & Clothier in Ardmore, Pa., for twenty years.

She is survived by her sister, Martha D. Shinn, Elverson; her brother, Charles A. Douglas, Tomahawk, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings: John, Caroline, Edward and Morris.

Eastern Star services by Friendship Chapter No. 551 O.E.S. will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.

Interment with military honors, graveside at 2:00 p.m. in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA
