The Life of STEPHEN MAX BROWN

Stephen “Steve” Max Brown, age 70, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, passed away January 14, 2018. He entered this world January 31, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Max and Sarah (Heller) Brown. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Steve proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era.  After the Navy, he was a deputy sheriff in Hancock County, Iowa, and then began his career at the United States Postal Service where he became postmaster in Juneau, Wisconsin, then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was in management at that post office before retiring after 30 years. He was a charter and lifetime member of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association. Steve also enjoyed using his Ham Radio
(KØGID) and ? and was a volunteer EMT in Juneau, Wisconsin. After retiring and moving to the Branson area, he was a Branson school bus driver for 10 years. Steve will be dearly missed.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sandra Brown; grandchild, Stephanie Brown; and two sons: Larry and Jeff Brown.

He is survived by his wife of more than 13 years, Barbara Brown; son, Charlie Brown of Watertown, Wisconsin; daughter, Denise Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Andrea Baker of Omaha, Nebraska; stepson, Jeff (Valerie) Stannard of Appleton, Wisconsin; stepdaughter, Jodi (Kevin) Klebe of Riverside, Iowa; grandchildren: Joe, James, Josh, Jaymee, Sofia, and Savanah; and step-grandchildren: Aaron, Haley, Madison, and Cullen.

A celebration of life will be held later both locally and in Des Moines, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association at http://www.iowarocknroll.com
