The Life of Joan M. Peruto
Obituary - Joan M. (nee Rinaldi) Peruto, 82, of the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, PA, died April 11, 2018 at Methodist Hospital. A graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1953, she had been employed as a Teacher's Aide/ reading specialist for the Philadelphia School District for over 20 years before retiring. Mrs. Peruto enjoyed entertaining at all levels, inviting anyone and everyone to fill the house with laughter and joy. She was an avid scrabble enthusiast and enjoyed board and card games of all kinds. Joan had her own column in the Overbrook Press called Peruto's People and in it she would keep everyone up to date on the local neighborhood news. She will best be remembered as a loving Mom and Mom-Mom. She was a longtime member of St. Callistus Parish until it closed and more recently she attended St Laurence Church in Highland Park. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Peruto. Survivors: include her children, David (Eve) Brusco, Victoria (John) Corona, John Brusco and Stephanie (Bud) Christen; her sister, Lucille (Michael) Belisairo, Grandchildren, Danielle (Stefano) Bucci, Danny Jo Brusco, Krystle Corona and 7 great-grandchildren.
Service: Funeral Mass will be 10:30 Tuesday at St. Donato Roman Catholic Church, 401 N. 65th St., Phila., Pa 19151
Visitation: 9:15-10:15 in Church
Interment: SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
Contributions: in her memory to the Church, would be preferred
