The Life of Elsie F Warner
Elsie Florence Osborn
Warner, 87, of Pottsville, passed away Feb. 16.
Elsie was the wife of the late John S. Warner, director of
engineering for Service Electric Cable Television Inc. in Mahanoy City and
Allentown, for 43 years.
Elsie was born March 15, 1930, in Atlantic City, N.J. She was
a daughter of Raymond and Myrtle Jordan Osborn.
Elsie attended school in Philadelphia, and graduated with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art. She was employed for 23
years at Service Electric in Mahanoy City. She was also a freelance artist for
local firms and industries doing advertising and illustration work.
Elsie was a student of Egyptology at the University of
Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Philadelphia. She did
epigraphic survey work to preserve artifacts of Egyptian Art since 1989 and
traveled to Egyptian tombs several times.
Elsie was also a member of several organizations including
the Schuylkill County Allied Artists, Pennsylvania Society of Water Color
Painters, Lehigh Art Alliance in Allentown, a life member of the Tulpehocken
Settlement Historical Society in Womelsdorf, the Historical Society of
Schuylkill County in Pottstown, the Historical Society of Berks County in
Reading, the American Research Center in Egypt, and the Tate Museum in Casper,
Wyo.
Elsie was preceded in death by her brother, Richard B., and
sister, Julia G. Kazor.
Elsie is survived by her six children, Jeffrey S. Warner, Dr.
John C. Warner, Patricia M. Loeper Holl, Carol A. Loeper Biggers, Robert P.
Loeper and L. Joel Loeper; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday the 14th
at 12:00 Noon at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are welcome from 10:00
A.M. until the time of services. Interment
will follow in the Veteran's Section of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill
