The Life of Anna L Rhode



Anna L. "Jean" Rhode, 86, of Pottsville, passed away Friday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born July 12, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Patinsky. 

Anna attended school in Minersville and then went on to work as a seamstress in many local factories. Later in life, Anna worked at the Pottsville Area High School in the cafeteria.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville, where she was an active member.

Anna loved to use her sewing skills and enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She also loved to travel, go on cruises and visit casinos along the way. Anna was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for her family to bring everyone together.

She was married to the late Charles A. Rhode, who passed away in October. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Viduszynski and Josephine Pavlock; a brother, Tony Jaszolt.

Anna is survived by her son, Charles, husband of Bonnie, Biglerville; daughters, Debra Andrisani, wife of Joseph, New Jersey, and Christi, fiancee of Scott Coy, Pottsville; grandchildren, Jodi Mataka, Haley Wiscount and Alisha Rhode; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Le-onard Patinsky and companion, Lisa Adams, Pottsville.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Fidler officiating. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Anna's name be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 316 W. Market St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
