The Life of Gladys F Spangler


Gladys Frances Spangler, Orwigsburg, formerly of Applewood Circle, passed away Friday, on her 91st birthday, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Gladys was born in Minersville, March 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Helen Snaguski and Raymond Drogalis.

She was the widow of David Livingstone Spangler.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg.

She was predeceased by her sons, Gary and Ronald Spangler, and a brother, Raymond Drogalis Jr.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, Lori, wife of James Moore, and Judy, wife of Tracy Zechman; two sons, David, husband of Mary Ann Spangler, and Rick, husband of Norma Spangler. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gladys was looking forward to 2 more great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Gladys's Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Jan Remer-Osborn officiating. Friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated, made to Team Orwigsburg C/O Eileen Thompson, 33 E. Adamsdale Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park Inc., Schuylkill Haven. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. is honored to be serving the family.
