The Life of Hewitt Jr. Sanders

Hewitt “Billy” Sanders Jr., age 77, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of February 12, 2018, at Masonicare in Wallingford. Mr. Sanders was born in Society Hill, SC on June 10, 1940, son of the late Jay and Mattie Smith Sanders. During his working career, he was employed at the former Hull Dye, driver for Valley Transit, security guard at Ansonia Copper & Brass and truck driver at North American Van Lines. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Joseph Sanders (Hazel) of Derby and Hewitt Sanders III of Ansonia, daughters, Connie Rains (Donald) of Durham, NC, Barbara J. Sanders of Naugatuck and Theresa Johnson (Robert) of Hartsville, SC, brothers, John Sanders of Ansonia, Mickey Sanders of Hamden and Willie Sanders (Chelva) of New Haven, sisters, Margaret Sanders of Hamden, Sally Gee of Ansonia, Hattie Daniels (Herbert) of Derby, Christine House (Robert) of Hamden and Dorothy Thomas (Kevin) of Texas, twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patsy Sanders, brothers, Hazel “Curtis” Sanders, Andrew “Levern” Sanders and Robert Sanders and a sister, Virginia Sanders. Visiting will take place on Monday February 19, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Star Bethlehem Church, 18 Lester Street in Ansonia.
