The Life of Bruce E Eiler


Bruce Earle Eiler, 63, a resident of Orwigsburg Center, passed away Jan. 23 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Pottsville, May 3, 1954, he was a son of the late Paul F. and Wanda Zucofski Eiler.

He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, as well as Joe Paterno and Penn State University Football.

Even with limited speech, Bruce's facial expressions conveyed more than words ever could.

He looked forward to visits from friends and family, and also loved to smile and flirt with the nurses and staff at his nursing homes. 

In addition to his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by sister, Dawn Kelley; nephew, Gary V. Kelley; brother-in-law, Ed Kelley.

Bruce is survived by two sisters, Carole Parry and husband, Frank, Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Denise Charles and husband, Jimmy, Bloomingdale, Ga., and a brother, LaMar Eiler and wife, Jeanie, Pottsville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Denise Ranay and husband, Ron, Sonya Carius, and Brian and Kevin Schwenk; great-nieces and -nephews: Mackenzie, Tamra, Toby, Orion, Cody and Devon, and devoted friends, Betty Ann and Billy Kline.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Dennis Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
