The Life of Antoine S. Bazarbashian

Antoine S. Bazarbashian passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 23, 2018.

Survived by his loving wife, Rose (Yessayan), dedicated sons Armen (Bridget) and Vicken. Son of the late Hesther and Sarkis Bazarbashian.

Born in Beirut , Lebanon, Antoine came to the United States in 1960. His career as a lithographer began shortly after he immigrated, and he was very passionate about his work.

Antoine was a devoted father and husband. His family was his pride and joy in life. Antoine was well known for his quick wit and comedic timing. He was a dedicated advocate to the Armenian community in Philadelphia, as well as across the United States and Canada.

He was the Chairman of the Philadelphia chapter of Tekeyan Cultural Association, Executive Committee Member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Armenian General Benevolent Union, and a passionate member of the Armenian Democratic League. Antoine was an active parishioner of St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church for many years, and a member of the Knights of Vartan.  In 2015, Antoine was honored with a lifetime achievement award by the Executive Board of Tekeyan Cultural Association for his lifelong service.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the Armenian community in Philadelphia and throughout the world. 

His funeral service will be 11am Friday at St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 630 Clothier Rd, Wynnewood, Pa 19096.  Viewing one hour prior to service in the church. Interment Arlington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church or Tekeyan Cultural Association or Armenian Sisters Academy.  All donations should be mailed directly to the specific organizations.
