The Life of KEITH PERRY SPRINGER

Keith "Perry" Springer peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer.

Perry was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, August 25, 1943. He was the youngest of three sons born to Keith and Loreene Springer. He graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1961 and then attended The State College of Iowa, now known as The University of Northern Iowa. It was at college that he met his first wife, and mother of his two children, Mildred (Laughton) Springer. They were blessed with 37 years of marriage at the time of Milly''s passing.

Perry retired from The Principal Financial Group after 29 years of service. He proudly served his country in the National Guard of Iowa from 1965 until 1971.

Perry always said he was a very lucky man to have found love again. He and his second wife, Lorraine (Fazio) Northway were married in June of 2005. Together they shared a strong love for each other, their faith, family and friends. Perry had an appreciation for music of all kinds, he especially enjoyed live concerts and theatre. He would always jump at the chance to do a little fishing. He loved the relaxation of a good book, and the companionship of their family dogs, Dolly and Gus. His favorite game was golf, and he would never pass up a chance to play. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, playing cards, and the challenge of an intricate puzzle. What he loved more than anything was time shared with each of his grandchildren.

Perry will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Lorraine; their children, Michelle (Jeffrey) Gibbs, Oak Creek WI, Paul (Victoria) Springer, Millbrook, AL, Bradley (Carla) Hudson, Norwalk, IA, Jennifer (Michael) Lyon, Norwalk, IA; and his brother, Lyle (Janice) Springer, Marshalltown, IA. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and his brother, Richard.

On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, a visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., at Lutheran Church of Hope, 935 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. After a luncheon at the church, burial will be at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery, One N.E. 60th Ave. in Des Moines, IA.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the family in loving memory of Perry.
