She had been a long time member of St. John’s Tinicum Lutheran Church, having served as a Sunday School teacher and Council member.

She also excelled in one of her favorite roles, doting aunt to Emma and Ethan. Shirley’s smile, sarcastic wit, and generous heart will be forever missed. Left to lovingly honor Shirley’s memory are her husband of 16 years, Eric Lambert; her mother, Elizabeth Dougherty (nee Reinerth) of Lester, Pa.; her father, James Dougherty of Somers Point, N.J.; her sister, Colleen Dougherty Dachowicz (Joe) of Frisco, TX; nieces and nephew Emma and Ethan Dachowicz of Frisco, TX; and many heartbroken aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Her burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to Team Hoyt Texas (teamhoyttexas.com). This non-profit organization has been an important part of her nephew’s life, as it assists those that are differently-abled to become active members of their community.
