The Life of David O'Leary Sr.

David O'Leary Sr., 89, of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he was a son of the late Patrick and Clara O'Leary. 

He was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Schuylkill Haven. He was retired from the grocery industry. Besides being a devoted husband, dad and grandpa, he was an avid New York Yankees fan and was also a patriot, having served in the Army in Panama during the Korean Conflict. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Marie Mutalipassi O'Leary; his three brothers, Edward, Patrick and Joseph; his sister, Margaret.

David is survived by his three children, Barbara Spence, Allentown, David O'Leary and his husband, Earl Kemfort, Pottsville, and Patrick O'Leary, Orwigsburg; his sister, Edith D'Aquila, Bronxville, N.Y.; six grandchildren, James, Ryan, Patrick, Daniel, Kayla and Dylan; two great-granddaughters, Giada Roma and Ava Marie. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Ambrose Church, Schuylkill Haven. Monsignor Edward Zemanik will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Arrangements are by Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville.
