The Life of Pearl B Dehart


Pearl B. DeHart, age 85, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the wife of the late Lincoln L. DeHart who passed on July 13, 2015.

Born in Adamsdale, Schuylkill County, the daughter of the late Herbert Neiswender, Bernice (Deibert) Neiswender and stepdaughter of Iva Lindinmuth.

She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, class of 1950. After graduation she enrolled in Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1953 as a registered nurse.

Some of the hospitals that Pearl worked at were Temple Children's Hospital, Philadelphia; Cedars Medical Center in Miami, Fla.; and returning to Pottsville Hospital where she retired in 1972.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fleetwood.

Survived by her stepson, Lincoln L. DeHart Jr., of Birmingham, Ala.; and two stepgrandsons, Michael DeHart and Matthew DeHart. There are three stepgreat-grandsons and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

Also surviving are her friends, Roxanne and Michael Woerner, of Fleetwood.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 28th, in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St., Fleetwood. Burial will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
