The Life of Jerry A. Mixon

Jerry A. Mixon, 67, of Drexel Hill, PA, died November 18, 2017 at home. Born in Beaufort, SC his family moved to Radnor when he was 14.  He was a graduate of Radnor High School. Jerry proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and obtained the title of plane captain.  Jerry retired from his last position as Director of Plant Operations, Manor Care, Yeadon after 25 years of service.  

Jerry is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathleen Mixon (nee Caiazzo), his children, Jaime Shillady, Brandon Mixon, wife Jenn (nee Zalocha); Kathleen's children, Christie Devine, husband Thomas, Jason Wolf , wife Kimberly (nee Boyle) and Daniel Wolf, fiancé Ashley Krause; his brothers, William, Ronald and Ted Mixon; his sisters, Mary Sharp, Jenell Carrigan and 16 grandchildren- – Jake, Shane, Luke, and Tyler Shillady, Grayson Mixon-Lugo, Brandon, Brynn, and Jayce Mixon, Caitlin, Matthew, Dylan, Alyssa, and Andrew Devine, Raven Leuzzi, Selene Connell and Audrey Krause.  Jerry was pre-deceased by his sister Linda Sue Fairbanks.

Jerry enjoyed travel, the Eagles, watching classic movies and was devoted to Mr. Cat and his dogs. He most enjoyed the Porch Club, a group of neighbors who became his best friends – Nick Figlo, Jim Billie, Richard Giorla and Mikki Prunty.  Jerry proudly held the title Mayor of the Porch Club.  Please remember Jerry’s motto:  “Life is better on the porch”.
