The Life of Woodrow W. Bleiler
Woodrow W. Bleiler, 90, of Mertztown, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Eleanore V. (Wertman) Bleiler, whom he married on February 12, 1950. Born in Longswamp Township, Woodrow was a son of the late John and Minnie (Fenstermaker) Bleiler. He was a member of Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton, and served his country in the United States Navy. Woodrow was a Bricklayer, working for various contractors for 42 years, until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Bricklayer's Local Union #1. Woodrow was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed riding his bike, gardening, going to the casinos, and in his younger years, riding his motorcycle. The family would like to extended a sincere "Thank You" to Lehigh Valley Hospice, for their care and compassion they gave to Woodrow.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, Eleanore, Woodrow is survived by his children, Ruth A. (Bleiler), wife of Richard F. Druckenmiller, Milton, DE, Diane L. (Bleiler), wife of Steven E. Roth, Alburtis, Robert W., husband of Marie M. (Hall) Bleiler, Danville, and Glenn W. Bleiler, Wescosville; eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Jane (Bleiler) Geisinger, Barto, and a brother, Leroy Bleiler, Kutztown. He was predeceased by his parents, and five siblings.
A funeral service to celebrate Woodrow's life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Roger M. Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow in Topton Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
