The Life of Joan E Moyer

Joan Elizabeth Moyer, 84, passed away peacefully Oct. 8 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harry William Moyer, who passed away in December 2011.

Joan was a seamstress and worked in Llewellyn, until she moved to Nashua, N.H., 50 years ago. Her passion in life was her family and her home - which was always open and a welcoming place for all who entered it. Joan was a wonderful cook and all holidays were a joyous event at her home. She had a passion for music, loved concerts and especially Broadway shows. Joan was especially glad to have enjoyed recent years with her children and grandchildren.

Joan was predeceased by her sisters, Dolores Kuentzler and Mary Rosalie Kuentzler Crouse.

She leaves behind two beloved daughters and a treasured son, Sally Moyer, Nashua, N.H., Leigh Ripley (husband, Dan) New Boston, N.H., and Erik Moyer, Nashua. Joan had seven cherished grandchildren, Matthew Lenza, Michael Ripley, Vincent Lenza, Meredith Ripley, David Lenza, Nicole Ripley, and Sophia Moyer, and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Arthur Lenza. Also surviving her are dear sisters, Dorothy Artz, Nashua, and Arlene Moyer (husband, Richard), Schuylkill Haven, as well as nieces and nephews.

Joan's family is especially grateful for her niece, Martha's, love and care in her time of need.

A Catholic funeral Mass for both Joan and Harry will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville. Immediately following the Mass, Joan and Harry will be buried with graveside services in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Family and friends are warmly invited.
