The Life of Curtis F. Angstadt

Curtis F. Angstadt, 83, of Kutztown, died November 12, 2017, in Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, where he was a patient several weeks.  He was the husband of Janice L. (Reinhard) Angstadt.  They were married August 10, 1957. 

Born in Slateville, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Curtis A. and Naomi A. (Miller) Angstadt.  Curtis was a member of the U.C.C. congregation of Jerusalem (Red) Church, Kempton, and a Pennsylvania Army National Guard Veteran.  Curt was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1953, where he excelled at baseball.  He played fast-pitch softball, enjoyed bowling, the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, and sports in general.  Curtis was employed as a line operator at the former Schaefer Brewery, then Stroh Brewery, Fogelsville, until his retirement in 1996, after 26 years of service.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Janice, Curtis is survived by three sons: Gary S. widower of Marie (Telech) Angstadt, Bethlehem; Alan C. husband of Carol H. (Herring) Angstadt, Kutztown; and Andy W., husband of Tracy L. (Wendling) Angstadt, Macungie.  Other survivors include six grandchildren, Andrea L. (Angstadt) wife of Ian Rohrbach; Zackary E. husband of Macy L. (Stom) Angstadt; Cameron T. Angstadt; Dana C. Angstadt; Jacob C. Angstadt; and Shelby T. Angstadt.  There is also a great grandson, Gavin M. Rohrbach.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Wilbur C. Albright, officiating. Entombment in the Last Supper Mausoleum at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.  Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m., both times in the funeral home.
