The Life of Linda Kay Schaefer
Linda K. Schaefer
Age 65 of Waukesha, WI passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017 after a
sudden decline in health due to a stroke. She is the middle daughter of
the late Walter and Charlotte Schaefer of Wallingford, PA, and younger
sister to the late Barbara Russell. She is survived by her baby sister
Andrea (Andi) and brother-in-law Bill Hartt of Santa Rosa Beach,
Florida, and her doxies Fred and Barney.
Linda loved to laugh, play practical jokes, travel, watch football, play
games, and dote on her four-legged babies. She graduated from Nether
Providence High School in 1970 where she was active in sports and from
Shippensburg State College with a degree in elementary education and
library science in 1974, where she was a member of the AST Sorority.
Linda dedicated her life to her family, friends, and her 35 year career
as a senior executive and Director of Training in the investment banking
industry at Butcher & Singer, Van Kampin & Merritt, Old Kent,
M&I, and Fifth Third in Philadelphia, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and
Milwaukee.
Linda's life was made rich with family adventures, close friendships and
work associates which she cherished deeply. Most beloved were her
friendships with Cheryl, Edie, her goddaughter Caitlyn, Lynne, Jill,
Mark, Mitch, Lucy, and her sisters in crime at AST and the gang from NP.
Linda will be remembered most for her kind heart, generous spirit, thoughtfulness, quick wit, and her disdain of bananas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, at the Toppitzer Funeral
Home, 2900 State Road, in Drexel Hill, PA, 19082 at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at
Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
Memorial contributions can be
made either to the Humane Society of Waukesha, WI or Delaware County,
PA.
