The Life of Lorraine O'Neal
Funeral Services will be held at a 12:30PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017
in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. Lorraine Rabeaux O''Neal,
93, who passed away on November 2, 2017 at 1:38 AM at The Carpenter
House.
Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
Lorraine, a native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Joseph Rabeaux and the former Marie Touchet. An amazing cook, Lorraine would assist her husband, Red in entertaining clients. She and her husband spent many wonderful retirement years traveling the country in their RV with friends and made many more along the way. Lorraine was happiest when surrounded by her family. Her closest friends were her 11 siblings, with which she shared many good times at family reunions, crawfish boils and the all too serious Bourre'' games. Lorraine was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Sawka Lissard and her companion Tom Harrison, Richard Sawka and wife Jamie, Patricia O''Neal Liebert and husband Peter, Kathy O''Neal Benson and husband Earl; grandchildren, Scott Lissard and wife Leigh, Suzanne Roberts and husband Kyle, James Ryan Sawka and companion Sherry, Kelsey Benson; great grandchildren, Gordon Lissard, Kylie, Kyra, Amarah, Asher, Teagan, and Tobin Roberts; and sister, Hazel Sutherland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James A. "Red" O''Neal; parents; 10 siblings, Louise Gary, Louisa Vincent, Davis Rabeaux, Eunice Besse, Elizabeth Boutte, Gladys Landry, Lillian Rabeaux, Winnie Broussard, Robert Rabeaux and Barbara Blanchard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Richard Sawka, James Ryan Sawka, Tom Harrison, Pete Liebert, Earl Benson and Scott Lissard.
