The Life of Mary Patricia Anderson

Mary Pat passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by all her children, January 27, 2017.

She was born May 21, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan to Morris and Wilma Miller. Mary Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald F. Anderson and sister, Kathy Caruss. She is survived by her brother, Greg Miller (Andrea); daughters, Susan Danner Fenske (Lance), Lisa Danner Martin (Jeff) and Jennifer Danner Banks (David); and sons, Tim Danner (Fran), Mike Anderson (Mike), Michael Danner (Denise) and Eric Anderson (Shannon); and eleven grandchildren, Elisa, Candice, Alexandra, Maria, Grace, Sam, Samantha, Jeffrey, Riley, Morgan, and Jeremy.

Mary obtained her LPN license in 1959 from Michigan State University. She then worked for the City of Shawnee, 1972-1977, where she trail blazed and became the first woman building inspector in 1978. She continued to work in this field for various cities and Johnson County until her retirement in 2000.

Mary loved life and loved her family. She felt the call to service and was an active member at church. She also was a member of P.E.O. for over thirty years and enjoyed playing bridge in many bridge groups for close to fifty years.

She raised seven successful children. Throughout their lives and the lives of her grandchildren, she made it a priority to attend as many important life events as possible. She was the true matriarch of the Anderson and Danner Families and she will be greatly missed.
