The Life of S. Craig Kane III

S. Craig Kane, III, 87, of Willow Street, PA passed peacefully to be with his Lord with his wife by his side on Thursday, October, 12, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA.

He was the husband of Janice E. Mowry Kane for over 60 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of S. Craig, Jr and Gwendolyn Kistler Kane. Craig was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Craig retired from Philadelphia Electric Company where he had been employed in sales. He served his country in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division, as a corporal during the Korean War.

An active church member, Craig served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, moderator of deacons, trustee, and elder. He was formerly a member of Landsdowne Presbyterian Church and a current member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg.  Active in his community, he served as the president of the Lansdowne Union Athletic Association, president of the Landsdowne Neighbors Club, and on the board of the Bellvue Building and Loan Association. Craig was an avid woodworker and enjoyed working in his garden.

Surviving beside his wife Janice are 4 children, S. Craig IV (Mary) Kane, Scott E. (Brenda) Kane, Kate L. (Rob) Berkebile, Victoria E. (John) Lewis, Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a brother Robert W. (Janet) Kane.

Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, 101 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:00AM with Rev. Robert K. Bronkema officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of service.

Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
