The Life of Constance A Turner
Constance A. "Connie" Turner, 85, of Pottsville, formerly of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Constance was born in Elizabeth, N.J., Aug. 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Andrew George and Katherine Gertrude Adams Wynn Boutselis.
She was the widow of Clayton H. Turner.
From 1950 to early 1970s she was the owner and operator of Con-Ja-Ka Restaurant and bar. After that was sold, she was the head of dietary at Rest Haven Nursing Facility until 1986. She then retired devoting most her time to helping others. She was involved with Easter Seals and was a volunteer driver for Diakon Community Services.
Connie was an active and devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, volunteering her time preparing meals for church functions.
She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star-Orwigsburg Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Pastos and John and George Boutselis.
Connie is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Darzinikas, Schuylkill Haven, and Jayne M. Mettetal, wife of Michael, Sherman, Texas; a son, Joseph A. Darzinikas, husband of Kay, Orwigsburg; grandchildren, Katina Darzinikas Kazemka, Stephanie, Ashley, Cody, Ryan, Scott and Erin; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Kaleb, Evan and Aria. She is also survived by her first husband, Peter Darzinikas.
A Celebration of Connie's Life service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand Jr. officiating. Friends are invited to gather with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be private. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Orwigsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements. A special thank you to everyone at Providence Place of Pottsville and to Compassus Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
