The Life of Alma C. Major

Alma C. Major (Nee: Fortini) of Burlington passed away at Marcella Center in Burlington Township on Wednesday at the age of 88. She was born in Brockton, MA and lived in Burlington most of her life. She worked as a crossing guard for the Burlington City School District for 25 years near the intersection of Jacksonville Road and Route 130. Alma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was extremely proud of taking care of her family and would do so at any time without hesitation. Alma was predeceased by her husband Walter, a daughter Joanne, a sister Olga, her sons in law: Jim and Richard. She is survived by her children: Jean (Edward), Walter (Sue), Judy, Barbara; son in law Edward; grandchildren: Kim, Shane, Traci, Heather, Kate, Phillip, Eddie, Barry; great-grandchildren: Brooke, Gracie, Shaylah, Justin, Jenna, Jessica, Billy, John, Natalie, Aubrey, Addy, a sister Angie (Dave) and several nieces and nephews. The family invites friends to her viewing and service on Friday, September 22nd at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington. A viewing will be held from 11am-12:30pm. A service will begin at 12:30 with interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 North Cinnaminson.
